What is your favorite color?

That’s actually a difficult question for me to answer. In my “other” life, the one without a keyboard and thesaurus, I’m an artist so I have a soft spot for all colors. *grins* If pressed, I lean toward reds and purples.

What is your favorite movie or movies to watch?

I’ll watch just about anything, when I have the time to park my butt in front of the television or in a movie theater – which is rarely – but I love comedies and big, special effects blockbusters. For example, I’m eagerly waiting for Pirates III to come out this summer, and I’m totally hooked on the Harry Potter movies. Then again, I also like a good tearjerker from time to time. I’ve practically memorized Broke-back Mountain.

What are your favorite scenes to write?

My favorites are the scenes when characters first realize that they’ve fallen in love. It’s that moment of “aha” that gets me every time. The moment the thunderbolt hits and you can see the light bulb go off over the character’s head when he learns what the rest of us have known since page one. J

What is your favorite quote?

“I saw an angel in the marble, and carved until I set him free.”

It’s attributed to Michelangelo, and I think it applies to the blank page as well as the blank canvas or hunk of stone. 

What are you reading now?

I’m a Karen Marie Moning and Sherrilyn Kenyon addict. I’d read their grocery lists, if they’d let me. Same thing with Jean Auel – I’ve read her Earth’s Children’s Series to tatters.

Right at the moment I’m finishing up Hannibal Rising, by Thomas Harris, the story of Hannibal Lector’s formulative years. It’s fascinating, and more than a little creepy.

What is your favorite time of day?

I’m a night owl, hands down. I’d sleep all day and write all night, if I could.

What is your favorite season?

Fall. I enjoy a little nip in the air, days when it’s not too cold or too hot. I grew up in the U.S. northeast, and always loved the change of seasons. There’s nothing like a nice long, leisurely walk when the air is just brisk enough to pink your cheeks, and the trees are ablaze with color.

What is your favorite Holiday?

Halloween, which stands to reason, I guess. First, it occurs during my favorite time of year. Secondly, as a writer, I get to put on different people’s skins everyday  (not in the literal sense of course – that would bring us back to Hannibal Lector), “becoming” my characters, speaking in their voices, etc. On Halloween, I can dress up like them too, and no one will bat an eye.
